Ultimate Chef Challenge 2008
Photo by: Elaine Begley Mark your calendars! The most exciting cooking event of the year is slated for May 6, 2008 at the Stockton Civic Memorial Auditorium. Doors open at 5:00 PM. Three local chefs will compete this year to become Stockton's own Ultimate Chef. In addtion to the fun and excitement, you will also be able to sample many delicious appetizers from local restaurants and caterers. The event will also have a live and silent auction. New this year is the opportunity to bid on a seat at the exclusive "Chef's Dining Table" where you will have the opportunity to enjoy the delicious creations. Last year's event was sold out so get your tickets early. Table packages are also available. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Meet The ChefsNicholas Sanchez ( Stockton Golf & Country Club)
Photo by: Elaine Begley Chef Nico has been the Executive Chef with Stockton Golf & Country club since 2004. One of chef Nico's career highlight was being selected to cook for Vice President of the United States, Robert B. Cheney in 2002. For over 14 years, Chef Nico has been creating delicious dishes throughout northern California.
Julio Camberos Jr. (Black Tie Gourmet Catering)

As the winner of the 2007 Golden Bear Award at the California State Fair, Chef Julio is no stranger to cooking competitions. Focusing on elegant parties, Chef Julio enjoys the ability to custom design any menu for that special occasion that requires the touch of a gourmet professional. Black Tie Gourmet Catering can accomodate on-site elegant dinners, themed and ethnic cuisine, formal receptions, weddings and corporate events.
Jonathan Franco (The River Mill)
Photo by: Elaine Begley Jonathan Franco is a native of Stockton , California . Jonathan began his culinary education at San Joaquin Delta College . After graduating from San Joaquin Delta College , he attended the California Culinary Academy and graduated with an AOS degree and a certificate in the Baking and Pastry Arts.
Upon completion of his training in San Francisco , he pursued his culinary journey to Southern California . While in Southern California Chef Jonathan gained his experience from resorts, country clubs, independent restaurants, private catering, and as a personal chef. |
